Louisiana freshman J. J. Thomas has put together four straight solid games.  Today he got individual recognition for his efforts.

Thomas was named the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Player of the Week this week in leading the Cajuns to back to back victories for the first time this season.

Thomas scored nineteen points and hauled in 13 rebounds in the win over Centenary on Wednesday.  Saturday night against Louisiana-Monroe, the Cajuns freshman scored a career high 20 points and added nine rebounds in the Cajuns win. 

Thomas also had double-doubles in the Cajuns previous two games.

Louisiana entertains North Texas this Thursday night at the Cajundome.
