Sources: Minnesota to Hire Western Michigan’s Fleck
It looks like Les Miles is a bridesmaid again.
Following reports Miles was on the way to Minneapolis-St. Paul to discuss the opening at the University of Minnesota, ESPN and multiple other sources are reporting the Golden Gophers are turning their attention to Western Michigan's P. J. Fleck.
The ESPN report says the two sides are working on terms of a contract.
Minnesota fired head coach Tracy Claeys earlier this week after a 9-4 season. Claeys had publicly supported his players when they threatened a boycott following the suspension of ten players in regard to an alleged sexual assault.
Fleck's name has been one of the "hot buttons" in college football after leading Western Michigan to a 13-1 season, with the only loss coming to Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl.
Miles, who was fired after four games this season at LSU, also interviewed for the Houston job, which went to Major Applewhite.
