Pryor Not Interested In CFL

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is focused on the NFL Supplemental Draft, but that didn't stop a Canadian Football League squad from claiming the negotiating rights for the controversial quarterback. The Saskatchewan Roughriders extended an offer to Pryor, but the QB told them he wasn't interested in the CFL. Here is more from the AP and espn.com, followed by more blogging from Scott.

Asked if Pryor gave him a reason for his lack of interest in the Roughriders, James said: "He did not go into discussion. He just said he's not interested in the Canadian Football League. Obviously the offer was not sufficient to whet his taste buds."

James told ESPN's Joe Schad that he believes Ohio State will provide a letter that will show Pryor would not have been an eligible student-athlete moving forward, which should help Pryor in his cause to be eligible for the supplemental draft due to special circumstances.

Why would Pryor go to Saskatchewan? Have you ever been there? Neither have I, but I don't have a desire to visit anytime soon. On top of that, a high-end CFL player makes around 35K a season. Reportedly, Pryor made more than that last year just by signing Buckeye memorabilia.

A third-string QB in the NFL makes 6 figures. As long as Pryor can make an NFL roster, he would much prefer to ride the bench in the big leagues, than run around the 110 yard field of the CFL.
