Machado Leads Dodgers Back to NLCS
The Los Angeles Dodgers gave Baltimore five prospects to rent Manny Machado for the rest of the season.
On Monday, Machado paid dividends.
The Dodgers' shortstop drove in four runs, three on a home run that put the game out of reach, as Los Angeles defeated the Atlanta Braves 6-2 and won their best of five series, three games to one.
Atlanta held a 2-1 lead, but David Freese drove in a pair of runsin the sixth with a single to give LA the lead for good. An inning later, Machado followed with his bomb to left.
Ryan Madson, who relieved starter Rich Hill in the fifth, was the winning pitcher.
The Dodgers are in the National League Championship Series for the third straight year. They'll face the Milwaukee Brewers.
