With Parc International and Parc San Souci just walking distance from some of Lafayette's finest restaurants and bars, you would think businesses wouldn't have any trouble staying open.

Unfortunately, even the most unique spots aren’t immune to behind-the-scenes challenges.

We are sad to report that yet another Lafayette business has announced it will be closing in a little over a month.

Downtown Lafayette Speakeasy Announces Sudden Closure

The woman-owned speakeasy Le Grenadier announced on social media Thursday that they were faced with the toughest decision for any business owner and will be closing its doors.

Owner Mia Stanford explains they are heartbroken but that Le Grenadier has been struggling with difficult conditions and landlord troubles for months.

"After months of navigating difficult conditions and challenges with our landlord, we’ve made the incredibly tough decision to close our doors at 522 Jefferson St. Our final day of service will be May 10th.
This space has meant everything to us—but the health, safety, and experience of our team and guests must always come first.

In her post, Stanford announces that the bar will remain open until May 10th which means you can get your last round and say your goodbyes during Festival International April, 23 through April 27th.

Le Grenadier is located at  522 Jefferson St, next door to Nitetown.

Will Le Grenadier Reopen In a New Location?

Is this just goodbye for now?

"We’re heartbroken, but hopeful. Le Grenadier will rise again in a new location. Until then, your support during these final weeks means the world and directly helps us as we work to recover and rebuild."

Standord hints at the possibility of a new location in the future, but for now, asks for the community's support in their final weeks to hopefully recover and rebuild in the future.

"Thank you for being part of our story. This isn’t goodbye—it’s just the end of this chapter."
