Louisiana Ranks Among States With The Worst Wage Gap For Women

The National Women’s Law Center has confirmed the reality of the gender wage gap across the United States.

The study shows that women working full-time continue to face wage disparities compared to men in the same role.

Race also plays a part in the wage gap. For example, black women earn just 69 cents, while Latina women earn a mere 57 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men.

NWLC emphasizes that gender-based discrimination remains as a major reason for the wage gap, with studies indicating that factors such as race, education, and occupation are just the tip of the iceberg.

How Much Less Are Women in Louisiana Paid?

Louisiana ranked second to last with Utah dead last for states where women are paid less than men. Here women earn 75 cents for every dollar earned by men in full-time positions.
