Powerball Wins Confirmed in Louisiana & Texas

Louisiana's lottery luck continued to be on display this weekend when Louisiana's lottery player claimed not one but two big money prizes in the multi-state lottery game. The Powerball game has been getting most of the attention over the past week or so because of its huge jackpot. But, on Friday night there was a jackpot winner in the other multi-state lottery game available to Louisiana players, Mega Millions. 

The jackpot in that game was $360 million at the time the winning ticket was purchased. Speaking of winning tickets let's get back to Powerball and give you the chance to check your numbers. Here's how the October 7, 2023, drawing played out.

By the time the balls finally dropped from the hopper the jackpot had exceeded the estimated top prize of $1.4 billion and was in fact, $1.423 billion. Here were the numbers that were drawn:

You may confirm those numbers at the Powerball website. Which also confirms that no single ticket sold for the drawing on Saturday matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize. So, the estimated jackpot for Monday, October 9, 2023 will be $1.55 billion. That's for the annuitized prize. The Texas Lottery reports last night's Powerball generated two $1 million dollar winners. Those big-money wins in Texas took place in Uvalde and Mansfield. The two Texas winners were part 10 Match 5 Million dollar winners from last night's drawing. The game also produced two $3 million Match 5 winners. Those ticket purchasers opted for the Megaplier so their prize was times three. Those tickets were sold in Iowa and Maine.

A Louisiana ticket has been confirmed by the Louisiana Lottery to be one of the ten Match 5 Million dollar winners last night. There was also another ticket sold in the state that was a $50,000 winner.

The $50,000 win came in Kenner. The ticket was purchased at the Super D Food Mart on Esplanade. That ticket purchaser matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball.

The $1,000,000 winner was sold in Houma, Louisiana. That ticket matched all five of the white balls but missed the Powerball. The ticket was purchased at Plantation Truck Stop and Casino on Highway 311 in Houma. Congratulations to both of those winners.

There were no big wins in the Easy 5 or Lotto drawings. Those two games are also drawn on Saturday night along with the Powerball.
