Suspect Identified and Warrants Obtained
On August 20, 2025, the suspect was seen running from the house in the middle of the day to the corner of Joplin and Midway, where he fired multiple shots. Concerned residents gave investigators security video, photos, and detailed descriptions of the suspect and the weapon. Investigators also found shell casings at the scene and collected them as evidence.
Citizens continued to provide police with updates on the suspect's ongoing possession of the firearm. Based on this information, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for the residence on August 25, 2025.
Shreveport Teen Arrested, Firearm Seized
On August 27, 2025, at about 7:00 a.m., both warrants were executed. Tevarus Holden, 17, was taken into custody without incident. The firearm described by citizens was found and seized. Holden was charged with Illegal Use of a Weapon and Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile.
