NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell offered to earn a $1 salary during the NFL lockout. Well, the lockout didn't last long, and neither did Roger Goodell's paltry salary. In 2011 alone, Roger Goodell made a hefty sum of $29.49 million.

Essentially, NFL owners tripled his salary after the lockout, making him the highest paid commissioner in sports.

By contrast, MLB commissioner Bud Selig and NBA commissioner David Stern aren't exactly poor, but they make around $20 million annually. Hey, it's good work if you can get it.
