Hornets Road Woes Continue In Loss To Timberwolves

The New Orleans Hornets (22-45) held a lead with less than a minute to go in Minnesota on Sunday night. As they have so many times this season, they let it slip away, falling to the Timberwolves by the score of 97-95. It marks New Orleans sixth consecutive road defeat.

"It's a tough loss. Our guys battled," said coach Monty Williams. "We had a chance to win on the road. When you're up 4 with a minute, you feel like you're going to win the game."

But they didn't. With a late lead, they continue to have defensive breakdowns, coupled with poor offensive ball movement.

Greivis Vasquez finished with 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Robin Lopez chipped in a double-double of 20 points and 11 boards.

Anthony Davis (pictured) put together another impressive stat line (17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 1 block), all be it in a loss.

Two of the Hornets better scorers, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson, struggled Sunday night, only scoring 7 points each.

Maybe a trip home to the Crescent City will do the club some good, because the road has been a constant struggle. New Orleans hosts Golden State tonight at the Hive. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
