Hornets Lose To Suns In Overtime, Davis Sits Out Again With Injury

Another game without Anthony Davis ended in another overtime loss for the New Orleans Hornets. Ryan Anderson nailed a career-high 8 three-pointers, but it wasn't enough as the Phoenix Suns topped the Hornets in overtime by the score of 111-108.

Anderson led all scorers with 34 and also pulled down 11 rebounds. Greivis Vasquez (pictured left) was sensational, clocking 14 assists and 25 points. Al-Farouq Aminu was steady with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Despite a 19 point lead and career-nights from both Anderson and Vasquez, New Orleans couldn't tally a victory, something that Anderson is sick of.

"We have a lot of games like this," Anderson said. "We've just had a lot of games come down to the stretch."

Ironically, defense has been the Hornets calling card under head coach Monty Williams. During this 6 game losing streak, New Orleans has struggled on that end of the floor, particularly when it comes to defending the 3. Phoenix hit 11 shots from beyond the arc. The Hornets have given up 67 during their current losing skid.

Another big key to the Hornets loss was turnovers. 19 in a game is hard to overcome for any team, especially one as young as the Hornets. Without their two most talented players in Davis (ankle) and Eric Gordon (knee), New Orleans continues to lose close games down the stretch.

They'll drop to end their losing streak on Sunday night in Denver. Tip-off versus the Nuggets is set for 7:00.
