Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun Todd Lott was drafted in the ninth round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He began his professional playing career with the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League in the rookie league.

Todd had a successful first campaign, in 212 at-bats he hit .250 while smashing four home runs, 15 doubles, scoring 28 runs, and knocking in 25 baserunners while hitting in the middle of the order.

The Johnson City Cardinals finished the regular season 35-33 but got hot in the postseason and made a run to the Appalachian League Championship Series against the Burlington Royals.

The series was a best of three and after losing the first game 9-2, the Cardinals took flight winning game two 7-2 and the decisive game three 8-6 to win the championship!

Lott was one of the main players for the Cardinals specifically in the championship series playing both DH and first base. In the Appy League Finals Lott went 5/13 (.385 average) scoring three runs and an RBI.
