A pair of Lafayette bars are two of the top watering holes in the state according to BestInLA.com

Hats off to Jefferson Street Pub and Corner Bar for making the list of the best bars in Louisiana. BestInLA listed the best "sports bars, pubs, dive bars, upscale lounges" and beyond based on their ability to provide a "social escape" from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives here in Louisiana.

Corner Bar gets the nod for its two locations (Lafayette and Youngsville) and as someone who is familiar with the crew that runs the show, I would have to say that they are definitely deserving of this recognition. Here's what BestInLA had to say.

Providing its customers with a comfortable place to drink, this inviting bar is always smoke free and clean. Twenty-four beers are always on tap with selections that rotate seasonally. It is a place where the locals go to befriend the best bartenders in town and simply talk to the rest of the crew in attendance that day. Happy hour is served everyday until 7p.m. making this spot a great place to grab a cocktail or ice cold brew after work. They say their goal is to “make the in betweens as memorable as possible” and the local will tell you this nice bar will do just that. Sometimes all you need is good drinks, friendly service, and friendlier customers to make for a great bar.

The second Lafayette bar on the list is located in one of the coolest buildings in our beautiful Downtown Lafayette area. Jefferson Street Pub is a spot where you can grab a bite to eat, enjoy amazing cocktails, a great selection of beer, live music, DJs, dancing and more. Recently under new ownership, the current management has built upon all the things we love about JSP.

Jefferson Street Pub was founded in 2002 in the heart of downtown Lafayette. It is known for its relaxed crowd, nice service, and quality live music. Here you can get a cocktail, craft beer, or a simple beverage to start things off. They also serve excellent lunch and dinner items like shrimp pasta, burgers, shrimp n grits, shepherd’s pie, and more. Hang with the locals at Jefferson Street Pub.

Stop by and visit either of these bars to say congrats—and, of course, be sure to grab a drink while you're there.
