With both pitching and hitting clicking for UL, a couple of standouts include Spencer Arrighetti, who has the sixth-most strikeouts in the Sun Belt, and Carson Roccaforte, who is tied for 4th place in hits throughout the NCAA.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team won their Sun Belt Conference opener, defeating favorite FIU 36-31. Quarterback Blaine Gautier threw for 3 touchdowns, and finished with 307 yards of total offense. The win is the third straight for UL, and puts them at 1-0 in the SBC.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns scored 34 in the season opener at Oklahoma State. Bill Bentley pulled down two interceptions, returning one for a score. It wasn't enough however, as OSU defeated UL by the score of 61-34.
