With Texas A&M announcing they'd leave the Big 12 next year, The Big 12 will be down to 9 teams by July 2012. 25% of the original members (Nebraska, Colorado, A&M) will be gone in less than a year. Could that number continue to grow? Could the SEC be targeting Missouri?

Texas A&M today released a statement saying that they are going to explore other conference opportunities. While today's statement doesn't say the Aggies are definitely leaving the Big XII, the statement is seen by many to be just the latest fodder in the "will they or won't they" leave the conference scenario. ...

According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, Texas A&M is seriously considering a move to the Southeastern Conference. Texas Governor Rick Perry was asked about it and says conversations are being held.

South Carolina finished with 13 hits in their dominant CWS victory over Virginia last night in Omaha. The Gamecocks 7-1 win over the Cavaliers was their 13th NCAA tournament win in a row, tying them with Southern Cal and LSU for most consecutive tournament victories.

In the end, the lure of the Atlantic Coast Conference was too much for Mark Turgeon. The Texas A&M coach announced yesterday he is leaving the Aggies to take over at the University of Maryland, replacing Gary Williams, who announced his retirement last week. ...

Former LSU All-American Patrick Peterson has released a statement denying any association with trainer Will Lyles. This comes on the heels of a former Texas A&M coach claiming Lyles asked for $80,000 to secure Peterson's recruitment to the Aggies.
