Beyond The Mic: Hornets Dissed By National TV
Despite being in a nasty labor dispute, the NBA released the 2011-2012 regular season schedule yesterday. If a season is played, the Hornets will only appear on national television twice. That's pretty insulting considering New Orleans was a playoff team a year ago, and still possess one of the league's biggest superstars in Chris Paul. The Atlanta Hawks had less wins than the Hornets a year ago, but are scheduled for 8 national TV appearances. Oh well, there probably won't be a season anyway.

Paul was selected to the first team after the 2007-2008 season, and then made the second team the following season. If I was the only voter, CP3 would have been All-NBA second team.

Hornets general manager Dell Demps insinuated that his team would identify key players this offseason to surround Chris Paul with. As his current contract stands, Paul will be able to opt out at the end of next season. Demps and the Hornets want Paul around long-term. The best chance of that happening is surrounding him with key pieces.
