Nowitzki Playing Like A Legend

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has been compared to one basketball legend recently, in NBA Hall of Famer, Larry Bird. And after his heroic performance in game two of the NBA Finals, on Thursday night, Jason Whitlock, of foxsports.com, says that comparison may not be all that far-fetched.

Nowitzki isn't the passer that Bird was, but that's beside the point. What Whitlock is pointing out here is that Dirk is a great player, that basketball fans probably haven't appreciated enough.

If Nowitzki does lead the Mavericks to a championship, fans will remember not only what he did, on Thursday, but what he's done throughout the playoffs, for a long time.
