I love Mardi Gras, which means I love king cake. If you're not from Louisiana you really don't understand the pull of a delicious slice of pastry that really doesn't taste like cake at all. And I really don't care if they are now available year round, I only eat them during carnival season. They are a true Louisiana treat, for sure.

But I'm always on the look-out for different kinds and flavors of king cake, whether it's bites, macaroons, or ice cream, and I'm not a snob about it either. Yes, I love the doughnut king cakes from Meches. But there are some flavors that I would LOVE to see made, and maybe just haven't been looking in the right places yet. So if any of my bakery friends see this, let me know if you start making the flavors below, because I'll be there with fork in hand in a hot minute. Cheers, and Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!
