This past Monday night the Texas Lottery and Powerball Lottery officials confirmed a jackpot win in that multi-state lottery game. No, the big money winner didn't come from a Texas-sold ticket but the Lone Star State did experience some big wins in that drawing. By the way, the Powerball Jackpot of $214.9 million was won by a ticket that was sold in the state of Florida.

That meant that the jackpot for last night, Wednesday, May,8,2024, would be at the game's starting amount, $20 million. This is nothing to sneeze but compared to $214 million, it might be considered a letdown by some Powerball players. Still, there was money to be won, and here is how the drawing unfolded.

If you were unable to watch the video, here's how the numbers rolled out.

You'll need to verify those numbers when you check your ticket at the Official Powerball Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Both sites have a widget that allows you to input your ticket number or numbers if you purchased several to see what prizes you did or didn't win.

We do know that no tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot of $20 million. So, the Powerball top prize on Saturday will grow to an estimated $36 million for the annuity. If you win and choose the lump sum payout your prize would be an estimated $16.8 million.

There was one ticket sold across the Powerball footprint that matched the five white balls missing out on only the Powerball. That ticket was sold in Michigan and earned a Match 5 Million prize. Meanwhile, the Texas Lottery has confirmed there were three big money wins from Texas-sold tickets last night.

Our sources at the Texas Lottery did confirm that two tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing were $50,000 winners. Another ticket sold in the state earned a prize of $100,000. All three tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The $100,000 winner opted to participate in the Power Play so the ticket's winnings were multiplied by two in last night's drawing.

The Texas Lottery Powerball Winning Details Page also showed that 65 tickets sold for Wednesday's Powerball earned a prize of $100. There were also 31 tickets sold in Texas that earned a prize of $200.
