Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady lit the internet on fire after comparing playing a season of NFL football to military deployment.

Brady was discussing his challenges when it comes to a work-life balance with Kevin Durant on this week's episode of his "Let's Go" podcast saying that he finds it "nearly impossible to focus on his personal life" for half of the year when playing in the NFL.

The 45-year-old quarterback came out of a very short-lived retirement this past offseason and admits that, despite his efforts to focus on his off-field life, it's inevitable that he will bury himself in his job as an NFL quarterback instead.

Brady compared his struggle to being in the military and being sent away on deployment.

I almost look at like a football season like you're going away on deployment for the military. And it's like, 'Man, here I go again.'"

The future Hall of Fame quarterback was almost instantly shredded for his comparison of the two situations.

Brady's off-the-field woes have been well documented as divorce rumors swirled not long after his decision to return to the NFL. His wife, Gisele Bundchen has been very vocal when it comes to her feelings about Tom playing football, and recently it was reported that the alleged strain on their relationship has reached a point where they have both lawyered up in preparation for a divorce.

Brady's recent comments don't do much to push back on those reports as he is very clear about his extreme dedication to football.

The reality is you can really only be authentic to yourself. Right? Whatever you may say -- 'Ah, man, I want to, you know, make sure I spend a little more time doing this during the season,' the reality is, is when it comes down to it, your competitiveness takes over and as much as you want to have this playful balance with the work balance -- you're going to end up doing exactly what you've always done, which is why you are who you are.

Brady is all but saying that he's having a tough time choosing his family over football as Gisele has been adamant about her wishes for her husband to step away from the game and be more of a "hands-on family man."

After putting together an illustrious career over the last two decades that begs the question of what more is there left for Brady to prove?

Even his biggest haters won't debate his GOAT status—and with multiple NFL records, Super Bowl rings, and even more appearances, Brady still says he "gets to the point where all he cares about in the fall and winter months is wins and losses."

You're going to go, 'How the f*** do I get it done?' 'What do I got to do for my teammates to get it done?'

A big problem with that is Brady is simply not getting it done this season. The stats speak for themselves; and while there is still a lot of football to play, things are not looking hot for the future Hall of Fame quarterback so far in 2022.

The harshest criticism of Brady's quarterback play and his lack of leadership came after a shocking loss to a decimated Pittsburgh Steelers team in Week 6 of the NFL season.

The highlight of the game? Brady yelling and screaming at his offensive lineman.

Nothing that went viral from that game had anything to do with Brady performing well.

Recently retired NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made the observation that Brady "didn't look like he wanted to be out there" against the Steelers. If anyone is familiar with that feeling, it would be Big Ben.

Roethlisberger isn't the only one noticing that Tom's return hasn't been "worth it" thus far this NFL season.

Will Brady turn things around? Will he be able to save his marriage? Can he go on a run and make sure that his unretirement wasn't all for naught? How long will his teammates tolerate his lackluster play and lack of accountability?

At the beginning of the season, I said that Brady made a mistake by coming back to the game of football, and as much as I don't want to be right, I'm sticking by those words.
