Gordon McKernan is a trusted personal injury attorney in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has become a household name across the state. Some credit this to his catchy slogan "Get Gordon and Get it Done!". Not only that, he holds the Guinness World Record for owning the most billboards, well, we can't prove that but his face is on practically every billboard in the state.

The Advocate reported that he recently made a new purchase, but to our surprise, it's not another billboard.

From BBQ to Pickleball

Gordon McKernan, along with a group of partners, purchased The Shed BBQ location that closed down last month on Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge with plans to turn it into a lively pickleball destination.

Scheduled to open in August, this new spot won't just be about pickleball. It's also going to have a restaurant and bar designed by Ozzie Fernandez, the person behind places like Lit Pizza and Izzo’s Illegal Burrito. They'll be serving up a variety of yummy foods like sandwiches, burgers, tacos, salads, and other things to share. They're still thinking about what to call this place, though.

More Than Just Pickleball

Gordon McKernan got the idea for this pickleball hangout when he visited Austin and saw something similar there. He thought it would be great to have something like that right here in Baton Rouge.

Pickleball is a bit like a mix between ping pong and tennis. People play with a small, slow ball on a smaller tennis court. It's become really popular, and more places to play are popping up all over southern Louisiana.

Before it closed last month, the old Shed BBQ had indoor and outdoor spaces, including a restaurant, games, and outdoor volleyball courts.

Gordon McKernan and his team, bought the place just last week. They're planning to have both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, as well as things like golf simulators, shuffleboard, and other games for everyone to enjoy.

This new venture for Gordon McKernan will cater to the growing pickleball fandom in Louisiana and give people a place to have fun with their families.
