It's championship weekend for high school football in Louisiana, as 16 teams will compete for state titles Thursday through Saturday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Three Acadiana area teams have a shot at hoisting trophies in the LHSAA Prep Classic: Vermilion Catholic Screamin' Eagles, Catholic High New Iberia Panthers, and Cecilia Bulldogs.

The latter are in the state title game for the second straight year. Coach Dennis Skains' #18-seeded Bulldogs will take on the top-seeded Franklinton Demons for the Division II Non-Select State Championship.

Last year Cecilia fell just short of a state title, losing to the Opelousas Tigers. This year's team sure seems special and they're hoping to finish the deal and earn the school's first title since 1995.

The team got a bit of a surprise this week. A celebrity who we know and love around here sent the team a bit of a hype video.

That celeb needs no introduction around here...

Isn't Shaquille O'Neal the best??

We love that he called out some of the players on the team and even shouted out the cheerleaders.

"Shout out to Zoe and the cheerleaders. (barking noises) Cecilia Bulldogs forever. I live in Cecilia. I'm watching y'all," Shaq said as he wrapped up the video.

The fact that he confirmed he has a residence in the Cecilia area is no surprise either as many people have said that over the years.

If you plan to support the Cecilia Bulldogs in the LHSAA Prep Classic in New Orleans, you'll want to be at the Caesars Superdome this Friday, December 13 at 7:00 pm.
