We have some unfortunate news to share with you.

LSU star football player Greg Brooks Jr. has been absent from the team in recent weeks and now we have a better idea as to why he has not been with his team.

Coach Brian Kelly recently announced that he was not with the team due to a "medical emergency."

Well, now we are learning more about why Brooks has not been with the team.

In a statement that has been circulating on social media, it has been announced that the young man, Greg Brooks Jr., underwent an emergency surgery to remove a large tumor from his brain.

According to the statement, which you can see below, tests are being conducted on the tumor that was removed so that doctors can learn more.

In the statement on various social media platforms, it is asked that fans keep this young man in their thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

We will continue to follow this unfortunate story out of Baton Rouge, and we too are praying for this LSU Tiger and his family.
