The Lafayette man who is a suspect in the Friday, April 12 triple homicide on South College Road was arrested in a shooting that happened in May of 2020.

The Acadiana area was rocked by the news that three victims, Brandon Touchet, Eric Green, and Beth Reames had been shot to death in Reames' apartment.

According to Sergeant Robin Green with the Lafayette Police Department, the three were mutual friends with the suspect in the case Chad Credeur. Credeur was arrested in Calcasieu Parish on a firearms charge. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

A motive for the crime has not been determined. Green says Credeur was found in possession of identification of all three victims and some of their personal items.

The other shooting for which Credeur was arrested happened in the 400 block of Lourdes Street on May 9, 2020, according to Lafayette Police officials. You can click here to see our coverage of the story.

During the 2020 event, Lafayette Police officials alleged that Chad Credeur pulled a gun on the victim when the verbal fight there were having escalated. They say he pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the stomach. A witness then told police Credeur fled the scene.

Two days later, members of the Western District of Louisiana US Marshal Violent Offender Task Force arrested Credeur two days after the shooting. Credeur was arrested on a charge of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. According to KADN, Credeur was supposed to have gone to trial on that charge in March.

When he failed to show up for his trial, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Back in February of this year, a video surfaced of a man walking around the apartment complex with a rifle. It was captured on a Ring video.

At the time, police said the man wasn't doing anything illegal, but they encouraged people to call Crime Stoppers to try to identify the man as it was concerning to them. KADN reports that man is Chad Credeur.
