Air Force officials say all of the rain in the area recently has rodents seeking driver spaces. From the pictures in this story, you can tell that they have rats all over the place thus the folks at the base decided to close the dining hall.

For Air Force members without transportation, it was super convenient to be able to run over with their meal card to eat. Now, they'll have to go elsewhere until the facility is once again deemed safe. Base authorities say they will be reimbursed.

Officials say that civil engineers are working on the problem to make sure the facility is completely rid of the rodents before Red River Dining Facility reopens.

After receiving reports of several instances when the creatures were seen in droves, it became apparent to Barksdale officials that for the health and safety of everyone it was time to shut the doors and let the civil engineers work on solving the problem.

In a statement from Barksdale,

Based on the recommendations of Public Health and the need for Civil Engineers to take more invasive measures, and out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to temporarily close the Barksdale DFAC (dining facility).

It sounds like whatever they try now is going to be extremely serious.
