Okay moms, we have heard what you want for Christmas and we sure hope that you receive all of these things.

As I once told a member of my family who was casually lounging around a few days before Christmas, "Christmas doesn't just happen, moms make Christmas happen". And I meant it not as a snarky or mean comment but only to emphasize that moms lovingly do a million little things to make the holiday merry and bright for our children and other loved ones.

It's a sentiment that is echoed throughout the internet and social media, but Elizabeth Spencer does a truly great job of explaining at the website grownandflown how much we have to keep up with to make Christmas magical.

We see you ladies, and the others out there being both mom and dad to their families! We love and support you! Even though we know they will, please don't wait for your family to do something nice for you. You make yourself a priority and treat yourself to something you really want this year, even if it's just some silence and rest.

#5 Silence and Peace Are What Moms Want

We have all heard the phrase, "Silence is golden". And for moms, they say they would really appreciate some silence. A little bit of silence and peace is what makes the list for several moms.

Here is what some moms would love this Christmas:

#4 Moms Say They Really Want a Vacation

One thing you could do that would make mom happy, or if you are the mom, give yourself a break. Whether your family gives you a little trip away by yourself or with friends, enjoy yourself!

Moms, you deserve a break! You work so hard to get everything on your children's Christmas lists, and you should reward yourself with a little rest and relaxation.

Even if you don't have a budget, maybe you and another mom could swap Saturdays where you take each other's children for the day so you each get one of those days solely to do the things you love.

#3 Moms Would Love It If Someone Else Would Do the Chores

Moms, we know you cook, clean, organize, bake, shop, wrap presents, and WORRY about every little detail when it comes to making the perfect Christmas happen for your family.

Yes, it would be terrific if someone could take over your chore list for half a day, a day, or even just clean up all the Christmas mess.

Ladies, if this is one of your wishes for Christmas, I hope that someone in your life will take the loads of chores, including the loads of laundry, off your hands!

#2 Moms Really Want to Be with Their Children & Other Family

You can tell when you look into the faces of mothers when you are out shopping that they look a little frazzled and hassled, BUT you also see the love and kindness too.

Mothers look to show their love not with the material things, but with the love they put into their cooking, cleaning, and decorating. It's just another way to show a family how loved they are.

Many people can't be with their family at Christmas, and if that happens, be sure to pick up the phone and call your mom or FaceTime her! She needs to look into your eyes!

#1 Moms Just Want Their Children to Be Happy and Filled with Joy

Out of all the responses we received to our question, "Moms, what do you want for Christmas", the response we got most often is that moms just want their children and family to be happy and full of joy for Christmas.

I think parents think about the happiness of their children constantly. We sacrifice, and we would move heaven and earth to help our children.

May your Christmas be full of happiness, peace, and joy!

What Rachel contributed sums up much of what you have told us.

The following was one of the posts from a woman on our Facebook page. Her name is Rachel Comeaux Lanclos. She has saved this from another site, and it's a list of the things that moms would like:
