Texas County Has Issued State of Emergency for the Solar Eclipse
They're expecting a ton of visitors in a few weeks and they want folks to be prepared.

A once in a lifetime experience will be happening in parts of Texas in just over a month. For a period of just under five minutes, parts of Texas will go completely dark as the moon covers the sun completely. In the middle of the day, it will look like it is dusk or dawn. One Texas county is in the 'path of totality' and they're worried their area may not be able to handle the influx of people.
Bell County, Texas Issues State of Emergency for Solar Eclipse Day
Yesterday afternoon, the Bell County government informed their citizens that they're expecting their population to double on April 8th. Due to the fact their county is in this path of totality. Bell County currently has around 400,000 citizens, they're expecting that to easily double on April 8th.
Why the State of Emergency for a Solar Eclipse?
Essentially this is for citizens to be prepared. Government officials told their local citizens to be prepared for traffic congestion, fuel shortages and strains on first responders, hospitals, and food. So if you live in the area, don't plan on getting anywhere on April 8th easily.
When Will the Solar Eclipse Hit This Part of Texas?
Folks who plan to watch this path of totality across parts of Texas can see if on April 8th, 2024 around 1:40PM central time. This should go without saying, but remember DO NOT STARE DIRECTLY AT A SOLAR ECLIPSE. Please purchase the recommended glasses if you do plan on viewing this in a couple of weeks.
