The Cowgirls used three walk-offs last weekend to win the Lake Charles Bracket of the Southland Conference Tournament, including an emphatic walk-off home run from freshman Gwenn Hall to win the Lake Charles bracket on Sunday.

After three scoreless innings, Incarnate Word struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth. McNeese had a chance to tie it up in the fifth but left a runner stranded at third. The Cowgirls’ pitching, led by freshman Kadence Williams, kept them in the game. Williams pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out two.

In the seventh, McNeese put together a comeback. Senior Reese Reyna led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Rylie Bouvier. Freshman Sarah Allen then laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to tie the game at 1-1. With two outs and nobody on, Hall stepped in and belted an 0-2 pitch from Incarnate Word’s Larissa Jacquez over the right-centerfield wall to end the game.
