Lawsuit Jackpot! See If You Qualify for Compensation with This Measuring Cup
It could be a good idea to have a look in your cabinets because someone is making some extra money with a glass measuring cup.
Measuring Cup Settlement Has Been Reached:
Recently, the Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against a company that makes glass measuring cups. Instant Brands was accused by the FTC of misrepresenting the origin of its measuring cups as "made in USA" when in fact they were made in China. The FTC filed a lawsuit against the company last year.
The particular brand of measuring cup is rather widespread in American kitchens, even though the name Instant Brands may not sound recognized. Pyrex is manufactured by Instant Brands, the FTC said in a news release.
All told, more than 110,000 units of Chinese-made measuring cup sets were sold to U.S. consumers while being marketed as 'Made in USA," according to the FTC.
In the end, Instant Brands was mandated to reimburse the $129,416 judgment.
How To Get Your Pyrex Measuring Cup Refund?
According to the FTC, customers who bought the Pyrex measuring cups that were fraudulently advertised as being made in the United States would receive refunds totaling more than $88,000. A settlement payout tracker indicates that each claim will typically receive a median reimbursement of about $8.
Additionally, the FTC provided a portal where people could get answers to often asked questions about product claims and refunds, including how the procedure operates.
Contrary to popular belief, FTC settlement refunds are rather frequent. The commission was able to return $330 million in settlement proceeds just the previous year.
The FTC website lists a settlement of over $534 million that was paid to payday loan clients who had utilized AMG Services in 2018. This settlement is the largest one.
