Fishing for Memories

Fishing for Memories is a nonprofit organization created to develop awareness of Alzheimer’s disease while raising money for research and to support families dealing with this life-altering diagnosis. This saltwater fishing tournament is held at the Abbeville Harbor and Terminal Public Boat Launch near Maxie Pierce Grocery in Intracoastal City, Louisiana on June 22-24th.

Proceeds are donated to the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Cash prizes are awarded for the three heaviest fish in 12 categories in the adult division. In the youth division, children 13 and under with the three heaviest fish in 4 categories are awarded trophies with a lifetime Louisiana fishing license going to the 4 first-place winners. Plaques are awarded to the Best Inshore and Best Offshore Boats.
