When the Chicago Cubs won the World Series a few years ago, a curse was lifted off the franchise.

Had it not been, Cub fans would be cursing the curse for what unfolded last night.

In the worst strike three call I've ever seen (and for the record, I'm not a Cubs fan), Tony Kemp and the baseball world were perplexed when umpire Marty Foster rung him up following a fastball high and outside.

The out came in the top of the 9th, Cubs trailing the Phillies 4-2, with a runner on 1st and no outs.

Kudos to Kemp for keeping his composure during and after the game.

Disappointed is one way of putting it. Historically awful is another.
