The Impact of new Middle School in West Odessa, Texas
If you have been to West Odessa, Texas, in the past few months, you may have noticed that the city is building a new middle school. While some may dismiss this as nothing special, it is anything but. The school is being built to accommodate the growing student population in West Odessa and will have a significant impact on the structure of Odessa's school system dynamics.

According to Permian Proud, the Ector County ISD broke ground on the site back in January and has been working diligently on the project ever since. The project was a part of Bond 2023's Proposition A, which ultimately cost around $121 million. It will be the first school to be built since Crocket Middle School back in 1981 and the first to be built outside Loop 338.
Community Impact
Once the school is completed by the Fall of 2026, this will have a huge impact since the school will provide relief to the current middle schools. Some parents will welcome such a change since it could likely reduce commute time for some individuals. The project is a reflection of the city's commitment to growth and investment in Odessa's education.
Name, Colors, and Mascot
The name, colors, and mascot have yet to be determined, but it is likely that will be decided sometime before the end of 2025.
