Waco, Texas has a massive brand new bakery warehouse and sales center set to begin construction in the next couple of months that will likely bring with it a significant number of new jobs for Central Texas. The project is said to be privately financed, will be maintained on private property, and should be in the neighborhood of 7,500 square feet of a combination of retail and storage space designed to better serve the region's baked goods needs.

Even with their new facility still set to open in about one year time with a target of mid November of 2024, it is very encouraging to see BIMBO USA growing their presence in Texas just after announcing their baking facility in San Antonio would be closing by next month, and laying off around 150 people according to this article with KENS.

BIMBO actually has Texas roots and its origin dates back over 25 years ago to Fort Worth with the purchase of Mrs Baird's Bakeries by Mexican Grupo Bimbo. Over the years, the company has continued periods of growth and acquisitions of several baked good brands.
