Suspect in St. Martinville-Erath High School Football Game Shooting Arrested
An arrest has been made in the homicide that took place before the St. Martinville - Erath High School football game in St. Martinville on Friday night.
According to the St. Martinville Police Department, they have arrested 22-year-old Zackyric Gardner and charged him with Second Degree Murder.
St. Martinville Police said that Gardner's vehicle was located and stopped in Texas, where he was a passenger.
He was arrested and transported back to St. Martin Parish, where he was booked into the Jail. His bond was set at 10 million dollars.
According to the St. Martinville Police Department: "The amount of his bond is an example of a city and parish that will no longer tolerate this kind of violence, especially at a school function!"

Very little information has been released by authorities regarding the shooting incident that took place before Friday night's homecoming game. As of this time, we simply know that a shooting took place somewhere near the stadium before the game began and one person is dead.
The following Facebook Live video shot by Charlotte Goutierrez shows the Erath team on the field preparing for the game when multiple shots rang out and everyone quickly began fleeing the stadium.
The St. Martinville Police Department is asking anyone with information, including cell phone video of the incident, to contact their department's detectives at 337-394-3001.
They would also like to remind the public that the arrested suspect is innocent until proven guilty.
