A 14-year-old girl in Avoyelles Parish was arrested on Wednesday for making a prank call threatening Bunkie High School.

The Avoyelles 911 Communication Center received a call from a female around 7:07 am on September 25, 2024, threatening to "shoot up" Bunkie High School.

The Bunkie High School Resource Officer, Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Deputies, and Bunkie Police Department were immediately notified and responded to the school to protect the children and teachers.

The school was then placed on lockdown.

APSO learned that a 14-year-old student at Bunkie High allegedly made the prank call from her cell phone while she was on campus.

The Bunkie Police Department arrested the student for terrorizing, and she was released to her parents.
