Vernon Parish Hybrid School Calendar 2025-2026 by KALB DIGITAL
Vernon Parish is not the first Louisiana school district to adopt a similar four-day hybrid schedule. Others that have already implemented this format include Avoyelles, Evangeline, Winn, and LaSalle parishes.
Why is Vernon Parish going to a hybrid four-day school week?
As with most decisions these days, it's usually about the money. This change will save some serious dough for the school district.
Vernon Parish School Board Personnel Director Joey Bartz had this to say about the financial impact the change would have on the school district:
We are conservatively projecting to see somewhere in the neighborhood of $1-$1.5 million in savings and reimbursement by utilizing the hybrid calendar. Most of these savings will come via the meal reimbursement program, our energy audit program and a projected lowered cost with our substitute teacher payroll.
