(New Orleans, Louisiana) - A scary scene was captured on camera Friday morning as a driver in a small SUV drove the wrong way across the Causeway Bridge.

WDSU reports that a car was seen driving down the wrong side of the Causeway Bridge during foggy conditions Friday morning.

The lane in which the vehicle traveled was closed, but that did not stop him from driving on the wrong side of the bridge for nearly two miles.

Causeway police were able to catch up to the vehicle and then escorted the driver to safety.

The New Orleans news station reports that the driver is facing multiple traffic citations but was not arrested.

A family member came to the site of the pull-over and picked up the man who was driving on the wrong side of the bridge.

Here's a look at the scary incident from Friday morning.
