It has been a couple of weeks since a deep Arctic blast slammed south Louisiana and dumped record snow and super-low temperatures.

We all got outside and acted like kids again building snowmen, having snowball fights, sledding, and making up other Cajun ways to enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

A lot of folks took to social media to show how much snow fell at their home and as many showed temperature gauges measuring just how brutally cold it was where they live.

But which area got the most snow? And where were the coldest temperatures recorded?

The National Weather Service has published those figures and the spot that recorded the most snowfall was in Carencro. At that location, 13.6 inches were registered.

Following that were locations in Acadia Parish that registered 11.4 inches (Rayne), 11.0 inches (Church Point), and 10.5 inches (Rayne).

On January 22, 2025, that's when the record low temperatures took place.

The lowest of the lows was registered at the New Iberia-Acadiana Regional Airport. That observing network had a reading of 2 degrees at one point. The same temperature was recorded at the Opelousas-St. Landry Parish Airport.

A spot at the Abbeville-Chris Crusta Memorial Airport in Vermilion Parish got a reading of 3 degrees. And the Lafayette Regional Airport tallied a 4 degree temperature.
