Louisiana Ball Boy Hits Half-Court Shot on Senior Night
(Cecilia, Louisiana) A remarkable moment was caught on camera when a student from Cecilia High School was put into the basketball game and hit a half-court on Senior Night.
Ashton Joseph, a beloved student on the campus at Cecilia High, finally got into a game and he made the most of the opportunity.
Joseph, who is a special needs student, is the ball boy for the Cecilia Bulldogs basketball team, and as the game was coming close to an end, he was put into the game and hit a half-court shot.
Cecilia head coach Alphonso Williams told KATC Sports that he could see Joesph sliding closer and closer to him on the bench, and that is when the crowd in the gym started to chant. "Ashton, Ashton."
So, like in a movie, Coach Williams put Ashton into the game the basketball gods did the rest as Ashton hit a long-range shot.
According to Coach Williams, Ashton is a very intelligent kid and is loved by all on the campus of Cecilia High School. Check out what Ashton told KATC:
If that’s your dream—to play basketball, football, or volleyball—put God first. It will happen.
Cecilia High School has made the playoffs and their season will continue, but it's this shot that has not only Cecilia High buzzing but the entire state of Louisiana.
Here's the moment Ashton hit the shot of his life, and it was captured and shared by Varsity Sports Now.
