John Foster’s Instagram Message: A Thank You to Louisiana and Idol Fans
Louisiana native John Foster made quite the impression this season on American Idol. However, during the season finale on Sunday, Foster came up just a little bit short as he finished in 2nd place and as the runner-up to winner Jamal Roberts.
Foster Takes to Instagram to Thank Idol Fans
I'm sure on hand, the 18 year old Louisiana native is slightly disappointed to come so far and finish on second. But, on the other hand, Foster seems to be taking the loss well and extremely grateful for the experience.
In a statement he issued on Instagram following last night's results, Foster said "Man, what a true blessing to share this Idol stage with so many incredible heroes, both new faces and legends. I’m beyond thankful, and I can’t wait to keep making music for y’all as long as the good Lord lets me."

Foster spoke with WBRZ in Baton Rouge ahead of Sunday night's finale and he talked about having a place in the music industry - "My hometown visit was proof of the fact that even if I were to be eliminated at number 3, I would forever have a place in the industry. Addis, Brusly, Plaquemine, Port Allen, Baton Rouge, you've been supporting me in my early days while I was still honing my artistry in those bars, restaurants, and venues."
What's Next for Louisiana Native John Foster?
At the moment, the world is full of possibilities for John Foster. American Idol typically does a live tour with some of the more prominent members of the show. According to sources online, the pay day for that tour can be upwards of $150,000 - which ain't too shabby.
On top of that, there's been rumors flying around that several record labels have been ready to pounce on signing Foster to a recording contract. Which in some ways could be more beneficial for Foster than actually winning the Idol recording contract. Because now he can negotiate his own terms on a deal. Obviously, there's not a guaranteed payday like if he would won, but he could still end up in a really good place.
Regardless of what happens next, it's safe to say the future is bright for Louisiana's own John Foster.
