Louisiana In The Spotlight Of A Surprising Super Bowl Show
Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans, Louisiana, but many are upset over this pick.
With the Super Bowl coming back to Louisiana at the Ceasers Superdome many are upset by the pick of California-born rapper Kendrick Lamar over Louisiana's own Lil Wayne. It was the NFL, Apple Music, and Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation decided on Lamar as the halftime show's headlining artist.
This has caused a stir among many celebrities including one Nicki Minaj who has been all but quiet over on X (formerly Twitter). In a post on Monday Minaj expressed her frustration, "Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no reason but your ego."
In her posts Minaj took aim at Jay-Z for not only snubbing Wayne out of the halftime show but also for his partnership with the NFL in 2019, alluding to the rumors that the reason for the entire partnership was in response to Colin Kaepernick's removal from the NFL. "One n***a took a knee, The other n***a took the bag," Minaj said in a post on X.
All of this once again stirs up the infamous beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar that absorbed our entire summer. Nicki Minaj questioned Jay-Z "Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!!"
New Orlean's native and Lil Wayne's mentor Birdman also gave his piece of mind on X, posting "Hatin sh** 4real"
