The Shreveport have arrested two women in separate incidents over the weekend that left their victims with serious injuries.

On Friday, Shreveport Police were called to Stone Avenue to a reported stabbing. When SPD got to the scene, they were told by the victim and witnesses that 25 year-old Kathleen Strong had cut the victim's face with a knife following a verbal altercation. The victim sustained a serious laceration to her face, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Strong was arrested by SPD on the Aggravated Battery charge. During Stron's arrest Police found what appeared to be a narcotics pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. She was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In an unrelated case, Saturday, Shreveport Police were called to Columbia Street in reference to another aggravated battery. During the investigation, Officers were able to determine that Genevieve Capella hit another woman in the head with a glass bottle during a confrontation. The victim had a major laceration to her head, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Capella was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
