Enjoy One Last Mardi Gras Parade Tonight in Bossier
You might not have realized that Mardi Gras in the Arklatex isn't over just yet. You also might not realize that there actually is a Mardi Gras Parade in Bossier, but there is. Tonight, Mardi Gras wraps up with the final parade of the season with the Fat Tuesday Children's Mardi Gras Parade.
Parade Marshal Veronica Cooke told KEEL News on Monday, this is the perfect parade for families to come out, not have to worry about large crowds, safety, and spending all day out, but come out Saturday evening enjoy a great family event.
Fat Tuesday Children's Parade Details
The Fat Tuesday Children's Mardi Gras Parade rolls tonight at 6P at Pierre Bossier Mall, rain or shine. But the storms that blew into the Shreveport Bossier area this morning are expected to move through by this afternoon, making way for a perfect evening for a family parade.
Cooke said the parade this year features a Star Wars theme, and children and adults are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars character. There will be plenty for everyone to come out and enjoy including food trucks, face-painting, and lots of throws.
There's not a bad spot, because it just goes one mile around the mall and it's done in 30, 45 minutes. It's great for little kids, that's why we call it the Fat Tuesday Children's Parade, because some people don't want all the crowds, don't want to have to pack chairs and ice-chests... you don't have to do that.
