What started out as simply a new restaurant coming to Amarillo took a turn that nobody saw coming. The Texas Rose Steakhouse, which has locations in Pampa and Borger, used to have one in Canyon, too.

From Canyon to Coulter — What Changed

They announced earlier that they were getting an Amarillo location. We didn't know then that it was also taking the location in Canyon away. That is what happened. It closed right before Thanksgiving.

Since then, we have been waiting for the location to open in Amarillo. There were hints that it would be soon. They were still hiring for a few positions. There was chatter on social media that they were going to try to open up on Wednesday.

Spotting the Signs — Hiring Posts & Parking Lot Activity

I took a drive by and in the parking lot on Wednesday, and did see several cars in the back. In the area where you would expect employees to park. So it looked like it could end up being ready to open.

Where to Find the New Location

I kept checking their social media to see what the latest was, but still nothing. Then it happened. The word on the street was correct. Texas Rose Steakhouse did open up, and they are ready to serve us in their Amarillo location. They are in the former Rib Crib building on Coulter.
