The thing I love about living in the Texas Panhandle is that we come together as a community. We help out when we can. All that needs to be done is for someone to come out and let us know. How else do we know there is an issue unless we are told?

We got to see Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle jump in to help during our annual Help 4 the Holidays. Last week was great with all of the people stopping by and donating. The holidays are a great time for helping.

The Heartfelt Social Media Plea that Started It All

Recently, we saw a business in Canyon plead for help. With the economy being the way it is they have seen a dip in business, and it was really starting to concern them. Bears Burgers and Dawgs came out on social media to let us know about their concern.

This has been a bad year for small businesses. The economy is not helping much ; We at Bear’s Burgers and Dawgs are wondering if it is just the economy or have we done something different to lose a once good customer base. If it is us please let me know here or message me. Canyon is a great place and we want to continue; however if business does not pick we may be forced to close at the end of December. We appreciate your business and comments. Thank you

The comments on this post in the All Things Canyon group range from saying how great the food is to how the location of the restaurant is a bit hidden. There are over three hundred comments of support and help.

Texas Panhandle Customers Flood the Canyon Location

Then, like magic, the community got out and paid them a visit at 2201 N 2nd Avenue in Canyon. In fact, there was another post in the same group made the same night:

I must say I am so proud to live in such an amazing community. We went to Bears burgers and dawgs and there's been nonstop people coming in, the line has been to the door majority of the time weve been here. The burgers and fries are delicious and the cherry limeade. Yall are amazing -Stephanie

Continuing the Support: Why Regular Patronage Matters

The thing we have to remember is that this is great news. The city is rallying behind one of its own, but this can't be just a one-time thing, expected to solve all of the problems. As you are deciding on where to go out to eat, don't forget about Bears Burgers and Dawgs.

Business has to improve and keep going. Remember to support all of your favorites. We don't want to lose any of our go-tos. We really live in a great community.

We don't want any more restaurants added to this list.
