Community Dreams Up Fun Ideas For Old Tractor Supply Space
Several months ago, the Tractor Supply that was located on North Street in Nacogdoches closed down, only to be reopened at a brand new location about two miles away, where an entirely new building was built. The original building stood empty for a few months as we all waited to see what would take its place.
Then social media lit up with news of a new department store moving in. As I read some of those, I couldn't help but wonder: What other options could have moved in? I decided to jot a few of those down, just to see what could have been.

Perhaps A Small-Scale Theater
It's not a huge venue, so you couldn't have multiple screens, but I thought that a possibility could have been a small theater that could have presented not only movies, but lives acts such as concerts or stand-up comedy routines. It would be similar to a venue like the Pines Theater in Lufkin.
Maybe An Arcade...?
Here's one that hasn't been in Nacogdoches, at least that I can remember. Maybe there would be some interest in bringing in an arcade, not just with the latest games, but also with classics like pinball, and of course you'd have to have an area to exchange your winning tickets for prizes.
What About Laser Tag?
I would think that in a college town, laser tag would be a fairly safe investment. And, let's face it, there's not another location anywhere close...
A Wedding / Event Venue, Anyone?
Go with me on this one...If someone could completely revamp the building indoors and out - I'm talking lights, floors, ceilings, front facade, the total overhaul - and reopen as an event venue, wouldn't that be pretty cool? I mean, not only would it provide a good size area, but with Hobby Lobby next door, if supplies were needed, you could just run over and buy more! Sounds like a win-win to me.
At the end of the day, I think that any of these would have been a pretty solid choice, but hey, as long as there is forward progress in Nac, anything is welcome.
