Nightmare on 19th Street is back for its 19th terrifying season, and the screams are louder than ever. If Austin wants to “Keep Austin Weird,” we’re claiming “Keep Lubbock Spooky” — because how many towns can say their biggest attraction is a massive haunted theme park?
From Humble Beginnings to a Haunted Legacy
Nightmare began in the front lot of the Lone Star Event Center, spending two years there before expanding to the back. From the start, it was an over-the-top hit. Calling it “successful” is an understatement — though in true haunted house fashion, most of the money went right back into making things scarier. That tradition continues today.
Year-Round Work for Year-Round Chills
This isn’t a seasonal fling. Nightmare is a labor of love, built and maintained all year long. Every weekend is spent crafting creepy creations, repairing monsters, and dreaming up new ways to make your skin crawl.
Beyond October: Krampus, Love Bites & More
The park isn’t just for Halloween anymore. Fans can now shiver through a Krampus Christmas event in December and a wickedly romantic “Love Bites” Valentine’s event in February.
Why It Never Gets Old
One of Nightmare’s biggest draws is its ever-changing lineup. Complete attraction flips mean you’ll never see the same scares twice.
This year’s newest horror? Roger Ratty’s Pizza Playhouse 3D. Roger Ratty is a once-loveable giant mouse mascot who, along with his house band — The Dirty Possum Goodtimes Band — has turned evil after eating tainted cheese. Picture human-animal hybrids, trippy 3D paintscapes from local artists, and enough jump scares to keep you up for days.
Four Haunted Attractions. One Terrifying Night.
Roger Ratty’s joins Blood Moon Manor, Castle Dominus, and Karnevil for a four-attraction experience. Between scares, visitors can hit Mayhem Midway for food, games, and an expanded merch area.
