When Community Center Supervisor Jodie Miller was going through old storage bins at the facility she oversees, she found some spooky evidence indicating that the venue had once been used as a haunted house.

“We had black sheeting and old Halloween masks that were deteriorating,” Miller said. “I’ve always thought it would be cool to bring it back—to have another big holiday event to bring people together.”

The Victoria Community Center’s haunted past will take on new life as the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation has partnered up with us here at Townsquare Media to host a Halloween party 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, featuring a frightening haunted house along with less-scary activities for all ages.

The haunted house will be located in the Community Center annex. Residents must be at least 11 years old to enter the haunted house. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

“Be prepared to be scared!” Miller said.

The first 100 residents to make it through the haunted house will receive a swag bag.

Meanwhile, in the Community Center dome, residents will be able to visit trick-or-treat booths while TownSquare Media’s DJs provide music throughout the event.

The party will also include:

  • Food trucks
  • Costume contest
  • Inflatables and games for kids
  • Appearances from Beetlejuice
