Texas Fast Food Chain Closes Locations—Will Louisiana Be Next?
Earlier in the week, we learned that a popular fast food restaurant chain is closing locations in Texas. The locations that will be closed are centered around the Southeast Texas area.
It seems like we are getting news daily nowadays of more and more restaurants, clothing stores, and other retailers filing for bankruptcy, deciding to close locations, or worse, closing their doors for good and going out of business.
On Monday, it was announced that one of Texas's favorite fast food restaurant chains will be closing six locations in East Texas soon. The restaurant known for its famous Blizzards and chicken strips with white gravy, will be closing a few of their locations for good in the East Texas area. We, of course, are talking about Dairy Queen.
The locations in Texas that will shut down include:
- Hemphill, Texas
- Jasper, Texas
- Kountze, Texas
- Huntington, Texas
- Lufkin, Texas
- Longview, Texas location on Eastman Road
Lone Star DQ, the owner of these six locations, made the announcement this week telling CBS19,
I have given a long, hard 31 years to Dairy Queen and the hardest part of this for me is my entire crew and their families. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers," Becky Setters, manager, said.
So will the shutdown of these Dairy Queen locations in Southeast Texas domino over into Louisiana? It seems for right now that this is isolated to just the Southeast Texas location area. we did some research, and according to the Lone Star DQ's website, they only have locations in Texas and none in Louisiana affiliated with their company.
