The McNeese Cowboys were featured on the Sports Leader this morning as they made SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays for the first time this season.

During the historic 2023-2024 season for the McNeese Cowboys, Christian Shumate was featured on SportsCenter Top 10 on numerous occasions with some of his thunderous dunks throughout the year. This year, he hadn't landed on the program, until a MASSIVE dunk Monday Night against Northwestern State.

The ironic part of the thunderous Shu-Slam coming against Northwestern State is during the game last year inside Prather Coliseum, Shumate also landed on Sports Center.

On Monday Night, the Cowboys defeated Northwestern State 92-69 after McNeese State hit a season-high 16 three-pointers in the contest. The Pokes extended their conference winning streak to 15 games, extending its school record, and now tied as the fifth-longest in conference history (ULM 1990-91 and 1991-92, and Stephen F. Austin 2019-20). McNeese moved to 10-5 overall and 4-0 in league play.
